HCS SCS SB 379 -- COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS

SPONSOR:  Champion (Wright)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 16 to 0.

This substitute allows property located in a community
improvement district in the City of Springfield to be removed
from the district or have its class designation changed to
another class of the same district, upon written request.  The
substitute outlines guidelines and an approval process for the
removal or change of the property.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that certain community improvement
district areas no longer need services provided by the district
and would like to change districts.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Champion.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
